Cisco is purchasing Axiom Systems from Finland-based Comptel Corp for $31 million in cash, the companies announced Thursday.
The AXIOSS software suite, Axiom's core product, automates ordering and fulfillment and will be integrated into Cisco’s network management product, Cisco Prime. Customers will be able to deliver new video, data, mobility and cloud services more quickly and efficiently, Cisco said.
Since its release in December of 2009, Cisco has pointed to their five focuses; acquiring an order fulfillment software package speaks to its focus on “services.” Trefis, a stock market resource site, estimates that 16.1 percent of Cisco's stock valuation comes from their network services. Cisco has already integrated AXIOSS into their managed services solutions. The acquisition is expected to be complete in the third quarter of calendar year 2011.
