Gaming consumers aren't showing a high level of interest in 3-D content, Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello said at an investors meeting Thursday, as reported by VentureBeat.
"We have not seen a big uptake for 3-D gaming," said the EA chief. "We have not seen a big uptake in 3-D TVs in the home. We are not here trying to drive a market. We are here to react to what consumers want."
Riccitiello pointed to poor 3DS sales, which led Nintendo to slash its portable system's price from $250 to $170 earlier this week, as indicative of a lack of consumer interest in 3-D.
Sony has also been a major player in 3-D technology, as one of the primary manufacturers behind 3-D televisions. At E3 in June, it announced a $500, PlayStation-branded 3-D display.
