Phase 7 Trailer Blasts You With Stormtroopers of Death

Just like that rippin' clip for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, this trailer for Argentine horror flick Phase 7 leans heavily on an energetic song to sell the cinematic goods. This time, instead of a pounding Led Zeppelin cover, it's a vintage Stormtroopers of Death instrumental, spiked with a bit of President George H.W. Bush's terrifying "new world order" speech.

The Night Terrors series will bring horror films to AMC Theatres this summer.

Just like that rippin' clip for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, this trailer for Argentine horror flick Phase 7 leans heavily on an energetic song to sell the cinematic goods.

This time, instead of a pounding Led Zeppelin cover, it's a vintage Stormtroopers of Death instrumental, "March of the S.O.D.," spiked with a bit of President George H.W. Bush's terrifying "new world order" speech.

It's a perfect match for the movie's post-apocalyptic theme (and its parade of biohazard-suited actors). Directed and written by Nicolás Goldbart, Phase 7 stars Daniel Hendler (Lost Embrace) and Jazmín Stuart (The Paranoids).

Here's the synopsis:

"Phase 7 mixes satire, humor, horror and social commentary in a way that reminds viewers of the arch Shaun of the Dead and the savvy claustrophobia of [rec]. In the film, Coco (Hendler) has just moved to a new apartment with his wife Pipi (Stuart), who’s seven months pregnant. At first, they don't seem to notice the growing chaos around them, but when authorities quarantine their building after a deadly pandemic breaks out, Coco joins forces with his off-kilter, but well-prepared and stocked next-door neighbor Horacio to defend his refrigerator and keep Pipi safe. Meanwhile, outside the building, Buenos Aires – and the world as the apartment denizens know it – is disappearing. The world is ending; got ammo?"

Phase 7 will screen at AMC Theatres starting July 13 as part of the Night Terrors series put on by Bloody Disgusting and The Collective.
