My family and I got to spend last weekend at Walt Disney World. Now that we live in Florida, this is a much easier trip than it used to be. We had an invitation from friends to share a condo near the parks, so we packed up the kids a day before school let out (shh! don't tell the teachers!) and made the 7-hour drive.
On Friday we ventured over to Hollywood Studios for the start of their last 2011 Star Wars Weekend. This is where I caught my first glimpse of Ashley Ekstein's (the voice of Ashoka Tano in 2008's Star Wars: The Clone Wars) Her Universe clothing line. Ms. Ekstein was one of the celebrity hosts of the 2011 *Star Wars *Weekends, and was available to autograph her merchandise.
Her Universe was launched in spring 2010 and the first products premiered at the July 2010 San Diego Comic-Con. Thanks to support from Lucas Licensing and The Araca Group, Ms. Ekstein is able to market her beautiful designs along with other fangirl-friendly *Star Wars *products, such as jewelry.
Ms. Ekstein was especially excited about her apparel on display at this year's Star Wars Weekends, as this blog post describes.
