Remember that cute Volkswagen commercial that ran during the Super Bowl showing Little Darth Vader attempting to use the Force all over his house? Ever wonder what would happen if the Jedi tried to convince the little guy to step away from the Dark Side?
That's the idea behind a parody ad created by Greenpeace in an effort to call attention to the automaker's environmental record. The commercial, which has been racking up views since it was posted Monday, shows a Little Vader confronted by a pack of mini-Jedi as well as a small C-3PO and a relatively normal-size R2-D2 as a VW-emblazoned Death Star looms large in the sky, ready to destroy Earth.
Greenpeace claims Volkswagen hasn't been doing its part to reduce emissions in its fleet and has released this video (as well as a second episode, embedded below) and a lengthy report about the issue.
While the parody is spot-on, it's hard to imagine what kind of mileage the Death Star gets and what kind of car the Jedi would endorse. A Toyota Prius? A Chevy Volt? Really, what would Obi-Wan Kenobi drive?
