Trailer: Captain America Trains to Bash Nazis

“I’m just a kid from Brooklyn,” quips Captain America. That may be true, but by the time he dispatches that line in the new trailer embedded above, the superhero formerly known as Steve Rogers is no longer a skinny runt but a medical experiment encased in muscle and aimed at Hitler’s Third Reich.

The clip sketches out the feisty patriot’s origins story, offers glimpses of bastard Nazis and Tommy Lee Jones as a crusty commander, and showcases a novel use for the Star-Spangled Avenger’s red, white and blue shield.

Directed by Joe Johnston and starring Chris Evans as Cap, Marvel Entertainment’s Captain America: The First Avenger opens July 22. See the new one-sheet poster for the movie below.
