There’s a whole lot of whispering going on in the new U.K. trailer for Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, the upcoming horror film produced by Guillermo Del Toro.
A remake of a 1973 TV movie, it looks like a fairly standard “young family moves into haunted house” setup.
But the old-school vibe and the wall of whispers seem genuinely fright-inducing.
And then there are the glimpses of creepy creatures who want to be friends with the little girl played by Bailee Madison. Looks like just the kind thing of we’ve come to anticipate when Del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth, Hellboy) has a hand in a project.
Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, the first feature film from director Troy Nixey, stars Katie Holmes and Guy Pearce as the girl’s parents. The movie opens Aug. 26.
