The three rides of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter might be the main draw of Universal Orlando's new attraction -- and The Forbidden Journey is spectacular -- but strolling around the streets and shops is just as much of a thrill. The impeccable attention to detail makes you feel as if you've stepped into the beloved books and movies, and music from the films fills the air, adding to the feeling that Professor McGonagall might appear at any minute and demand your permission slip.

My husband, who avoids theme parks at all costs, loved WWoHP -- I even convinced him to go on The Forbidden Journey.

Here's a look at some of the highlights you'll see as you explore.

Stop by the Three Broomsticks for a lunch of fish and chips, cornish pasties, shepherd's pie and more, washed down with butterbeer or pumpkin juice, of course. The adjacent Hog's Head offers adult beverages.

Butterbeer comes in regular and frozen varieties and contains neither butter nor beer.

Don't forget to look up while you're strolling through the streets - you might see something magical!

Peek into the windows that line the street -- you never know when you'll see a moving picture or other magical touches.

The Hogwarts Express is just for display -- no rides -- but it does puff out steam.

Some of the wares in Zonko's Joke Shop.

Real cauldron cakes!

A giant chocolate frog.

Choosing a wand...or letting the wand choose you.

You can hear the wails of Moaning Myrtle in the restrooms.

WWoHP staffers are wonderful about letting guests snap their photos, as was this gentleman with an armload of Hedwigs.

I hope these pics and my previous posts have given you a taste of the magic of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. If you have any questions about visiting the park, feel free to post them in the forumand I'll do my best to answer them.
