Alisson's first published recipe ran in FamilyFun magazine's just-out April issue. (Check it out if the idea of a carrot patch made of candy doesn't offend you nutritionally.) The backstory: She asked her husband to buy Nilla wafers on his way home for a candy craft she was working on, but he came home with sugar wafers instead, which sparked the idea for this treat.

__Cathe __met her 3-month-old niece this week. This weekend she hopes to see old friends, and help at the local Warhammer tournament.

__Corrina __enjoyed the first full week of school that was also not interrupted by sickness, snow days, delayed openings or holidays since last November. She celebrated the free time by finishing edits on one of her books and writing up some book reviews for GeekMom and GeekDad.

Kalynn Brower, and her daughter, shared a small moment of heroic action. When a songbird crashed into the sliding glass door and lay stunned on the deck, they herded all four of the excited family cats inside the kitchen. Within a few minutes the female cardinal was upright and hopping around, and eventually took flight.

Kathy Ceceri has been busy scheduling library visits for this summer for her Crafts for Learning programs. She'll be showing kids how to make projects like abacuses and geometric architectural designs from her latest activity book, The Silk Road. She and her kids also did some scary experiments she saw on YouTube involving metal spoons and a 9V battery. She's hoping her new addiction to YouTube Science will not lead to a Darwin Award.

Laura can’t help but wonder if metaphorical new doors will be opening soon, now that the doors on her house are being replaced. Lately she’s writing about ordinary life on the farm and her buddies, the honeybees.

Patricia doesn't want to continue rubbing in that she's in Florida. But, she and her sons enjoyed a funlast-minute trip to the local strawberry farm on Monday. As always, they picked too many berries and Patricia was left to break out her canning supplies after 5 years of sitting idle. This coming Sunday is the family's first camping trip since moving to Florida AND her half marathon, wish her luck!!!

R. L. LaFevers is celebrating the release of not one, but two books this week, THEODOSIA AND THE LAST PHARAOH and NATHANIEL FLUDD, BEASTOLOGIST: The Unicorn’s Tale. She’s decided it’s kind of like having twins, only without the double midnight feedings and extra helping of diapers. As part of the celebrations, she is having a giveaway on her blog.

Sophie spent her Saturday afternoon attempting to convince her uncooperative eighteen-month old to pose nicely for his six-monthly photo shoot. She eventually succeeded and the resulting photos were so adorable they set her back well over $150. This weekend she's looking forward to finally seeing Sucker Punch on Saturday and also watching Bowling for Soup perform an acoustic concert on Sunday night.
