Pokémon Black and White owners now have a new way to interact on the Internet.
Pokémon Global Link, which officially launched Wednesday, is a browser-based facilitator for Pokémon players around the world.
The site currently has two main features: The Pokémon Dream World and the Global Battle Union. The Dream World allows your critters to interact with one another in a persistent online environment that Nintendo says is filled with minigames and collectible Pokémon that can't be found in Black or White. The Global Battle Union is an online tracking method that regularly shows statistics on players' battle rankings.
The Pokemon Company says that the Pokémon Global Link will serve as one big hub for new creatures and items throughout the year, so it seems to be a site worth bookmarking if you're a fan of the ubiquitous, terribly addictive series.
An earlier version of this story attributed the launch of this product to "Nintendo." While this is in a general sense true, it is more specifically an initiative of Nintendo affiliate The Pokemon Company International.
