Max Payne 3 is a game about staring up close into men's faces as they fire guns into the camera, if this batch of screens from Rockstar is anything to go by.
Since that seems unlikely, let's just say that these new screengrabs from the upcoming Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC action game are not quite reflective of actual gameplay scenarios. Bearing that in mind, the gorgeous graphics and facial animation that we've seen recently in Rockstar's upcoming L.A. Noire would indicate that this revival of the classic comic-book action series will also be easy on the eyes.
In Max Payne 3, which does not currently have a release date, we find the bullet-time-enabled cop down on his luck, addicted to booze and painkillers. Stripped of his badge, he lives in Brazil, working private security jobs. Hopefully it's not as a shopping mall guard keeping kids from skateboarding too close to the Orange Julius. That would be just too far to fall.
