Goodnight Moon has entertained several generations of children, but now there are a couple of geeky parodies to this classic!
My daughter is a huge fan of the book Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown. It is in heavy rotation for bedtime reading. Personally, I never was a fan of this book as a child, because I didn't really get it. Now that I'm a mom, I do get it since my daughter is big into delaying bedtime and saying goodnight to everything.
It was a bit ago that I came across a Star Wars alternative to Goodnight Moon that is called __*Goodnight Forest Moon. *__Though this book isn't available except for in PDF (though the website does give instructions on how to put together your own book), it's still a great read. Instead of the old woman who goes hush there is a quiet old Sith who whispers "shh". So, it's a parody that can be enjoyed by both the parents and children.
There is another parody called Goodnight Dune which I didn't quite get most of the references since I've never read Dune or saw any of the films / tv shows based on it. This book is also only available via PDF, but would be a great addition to any __*Dune *__fan's collection.
Do you know of any other Goodnight Moon parodies?
