asuras-wrath
A panoply of bizarre and exotic creatures — including Hindu gods, many-headed dragons and paunchy journalists — populate the new games coming from Capcom Entertainment.
Capcom took the veil off its upcoming slate of videogames at its recent Captivate event in Miami. Game|Life, having not jetted off for fun in the Florida sun, was not in attendance to see these games revealed. But like you, we have been watching the trailers with great interest, filled as they are with the sorts of fantastical characters and gameplay that we expect from the company, the leader in high-end games from Japan.
Jason Schreier and I offer our first impressions of each game, from Asura's Wrath all the way to Street Fighter x Tekken, in this handy trailer gallery.

Asura's Wrath
Chris: I figured Capcom, after announcing Asura's Wrath at the Tokyo Game Show, would put the focus on showing off actual gameplay. Unfortunately, this is just a whole lot of really good-looking cinematics, which are about as useful as that Dead Island trailer in terms of illustrating what this mythology-themed action game will be like. Jason: Asura's Wrath, which tells the story of deity Asura as he attempts to rescue his kidnapped daughter, is a gorgeous, far-out game that appears to involve a lot of Quick Time Events. According to previews by some of the writers who went to Capcom's Miami event, this trailer is part of a boss battle that's at least partially on rails. Though the whole mythology thing is getting a little overdone, there's something very compelling about an epic duel against an obese god. Chris: Wait, so that's actually gameplay? Hmm. Where are the QTE button prompts? I'm so confused. All videos courtesy Capcom Entertainment.
