According to a survey of 1,155 teens by TextPlus, a social texting app, nearly half would ask a date to the prom via text, while 66 percent would accept a prom date delivered via text.

Can you imagine the sweaty hands, awkward stammers and tongue-tied misery that could have been saved if WE could have handled prom via text? Imagine having the time to compose a rely to let a nice guy down easy, or the luxury of hiding your initial reaction (glee, horror, mix of both) from the person doing the asking. For me, it would have been a godsend.
