I have to admit, I'm not much good in the kitchen. I can throw together an uninspired-but-we-won't-starve dinner, and I can follow a recipe as ably as anyone. But I don't really enjoy cooking, and probably as a result, I'm not that good at it.
Baking has always been a bit different. I'm still not wild about it, but it definitely intrigues me more than plain old cooking. I like that the delicious results -- a cake, a plate of cookies -- tend to last a bit longer than the typical serve-it-and-it's-gone family meal. And I really like that baking lends itself to making cute and/or exquisitely decorated goodies.

Check out her site for all the pictures and a tutorial on how to make cookies like these. With inspiration like this, I might even find myself breaking out the flour. All right, probably not, but at least I can enjoy looking at the pretty pictures.
