The blood-stained poster for Hobo With a Shotgun “carries the proud distinction of being the most graphic and brutal artwork ever created by Mondo,” the Alamo Drafthouse’s collectible art boutique.

[eventbug]The vivid artwork by Jeff Procter is part of a Mondo poster series tied to the South by Southwest film festival, which starts Friday in Austin, Texas.

The theatrical poster (below) offers a more-realistic look at Hobo With a Shotgun, a revenge-fantasy flick that stars Blade Runner‘s Rutger Hauer as a homeless guy with a 12-gauge. (Love the tag line, “Delivering justice one shell at a time.”)

Directed by first-time feature helmer Jason Eisener, Hobo looks like a total exploitation-style hoot.

Hobo With a Shotgun screens Tuesday at SXSW. The movie will be available on-demand on iTunes, Xbox Marketplace, PlayStation Network and Amazon.com starting April 1; it blasts into select theaters May 6.
