In Foo Fighters Movie, Rockers Revert to All-Analog Garage Band

From the wreckage of Nirvana, gum-snapping drummer-turned-guitarist Dave Grohl emerged to carry the rock ‘n’ roll torch with his band, Foo Fighters. Sixteen years later, the group achieves the seal of approval eventually accorded most rock heavyweights in the form of a biopic documentary.

The trailer, embedded above, offers behind-the-scenes glimpses of fractious musicians Pat Smear, Nate Mendel, Taylor Hawkins and Chris Shiflett — plus the always-quotable Grohl, who spares no mercy when it comes to his own band-naming skills.

Regarding “Foo Fighters,” he says: “It’s the worst fucking band name in the world.”
