Dozens of the best Rollerbladers from around the world recently descended on the Area 51 Skatepark in Eindhoven, Holland, to see who would take home the top prize in Winterclash 2011, the largest annual 'blading contest in Europe.
Founded and organized by German-born Johannes Jacobi, Winterclash took place over two days earlier this month and attracted some of the best talent Rollerblading has to offer, as competitors came from all around the world. Beyond that, it was more than just a world-class competition, as there were side contests and video premieres going on nonstop. (Video recording and custom edits are a huge part of these competitions nowadays, as you're about to see.)
In the end, Dominik Wagner took home top honors in the pro division, while Anthony Pottier won the amateur title and Chihiro Azuma won the women's championship.
Here's a collection of clips of Wagner, taken before the competition.
Might we see some of these fresh faces at Summer X Games 17 in Los Angeles? Only 156 days until we find out.
