Comic Con Exclusive

San Diego Comic Con, which unsurprisingly sold out in a single day this year, traditionally has many exclusive items that fans can only purchase at the show. As part of New York Toy Fair, Hasbro has revealed that their Star Wars exclusive item will be a big one: a 14-figure set in Death Star themed collector's packaging.

The figures will be a selection from this years vintage line, printed on rare Revenge of the Jedi card backs. While these individual figures will be available elsewhere, the variant card backs will be hard to find in the wild. For those not familiar with the story, *Return of the Jedi *was originally slated to be titled *Revenge of the Jedi. *Late in production, George Lucas decided to make the change to a more lighthearted name given the family friendly nature of the film, but initial runs of merchandise were already printed with the Revenge name. This pieces have always been a favorite of collectors, so the alternate card backings are a tip of the hat to these fans.

This complete set give collectors an opportunity to save themselves a lot of work chasing these down on store shelves, but it also comes with an added bonus. In addition to the twelve publicly-released figures, there will be two mini-figures available only in this boxed set: Jabba's pet henchman Salacious Crumb, and the tiny buzzing Mouse Droid shown in Death Star scenes. To further solidify this set's awesomeness, the large cardboard Death Star packaging looks beautiful.
