NEW YORK, NY – November 8, 2010 – WIRED, the magazine known for innovation and design, has curated more than 200 engaging products, along with interactive installations for its annual WIRED Store gallery. The shopping space includes what’s new and next in consumer electronics, gaming, active gear, home goods, eco-lifestyle items, apparel and children’s toys in the three-level historic Tower Records building in the NoHo neighborhood of New York City. This year’s “Shop & Share” experience is presented by ZYNC from American Express and the sport-injected 2011 Buick Regal.

“Partnering with high-minded brands like American Express and Buick helps us showcase the latest in design, innovation and smart products,” said Howard Mittman, WIRED Vice President & Publisher. “It’s exciting to see WIRED come to life in this interactive gallery environment.”

Located at 692 Broadway (at 4th Street), the WIRED Store will be open to the public between November 19 and December 26 from 11am to 7pm Wednesdays through Sundays. (The Store is closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.) Visitors are invited to explore the gallery, test products and attend events; shoppers can purchase featured products online at stag-komodo.wired.com/wiredstore beginning November 19.

EXPERIENTIAL ART EXHIBITIONS

  • The enigmatic "Wilderness Machine" will also be on display. The machine brings to life the second phase of “The Wilderness Downtown,” Chris Milk’s acclaimed music video project for Arcade Fire. The machine generates postcards created online by the millions of people who have participated in the project at www.thewildernessdowntown.com. The postcards, the physical manifestation of the interactive experience, are printed on seeded paper, which when planted grow into birch trees.
