MMORPG DC Universe Online doesn't arrive until February, but new art from upcoming comic book series DCUO: Legends serves up a glimpse of the planet-crushing action that will drive the game.
DC Comics, which is developing the game with Sony Online Entertainment, released first-look images from DCUO: Legends, an upcoming biweekly comic set in the game's universe, Monday on The Source. The new series is written by Tony Bedard (Green Lantern Corps) and Marv Wolfman (Crisis on Infinite Earths), with covers from Ed Benes and Ryan Sook and interior art from Howard Porter and Adriana Melo.
DC also released images from DC Universe Online Monday, a few of which are included in the gallery above. But the static gameplay shots simply cannot hold a candle to the comic book art – or to the seriously stunning preview trailer released earlier this year (below). Fans who've waited their whole lives to become Batman, Superman and other DC icons don't have to wait much longer.
