Indie short film Beyond Black Mesa looks a lot bigger than its reported $1,200 budget. The film, directed by Brian Curtin, was inspired by the Half-Life videogame series.
The story is built around "Adrian Shephard and a band of resistance fighters struggling to get out a warning about the impending invasion," according to the YouTube page where the trailer and the teaser trailer (below) were posted. Shot using a Canon HV20, the film has been two years in the making, with "endless hours of post."
