A demo for a new, fan-made Sonic game blows the wheels off Sonic the Hedgehog 4.
The new game, called Sonic Fan Remix, was developed by two members of the Sonic Retro community. The demo shows the game to be a beautiful, 2.5-D homage to the Sega Genesis titles.
Sonic Fan Remix combines the tight physics and polished level design of the classic games with stunning graphical effects. The animations are smooth and Sonic controls exactly like he should – no losing momentum just because you aren't holding your control forward.
Wired.com recently reviewed Sonic the Hedgehog 4 – a game widely seen as Sega's last chance to restore some integrity to the blazing blue critter – and found it to be below-average at best. It's nice to see that if Sega can't fix Sonic, at least the fans can.
