It's not just movies like The Phantom Menace and Titanic that will be getting a 3-D upgrade in the near future. Five classic sci-fi novels will be reissued with 3-D covers next year.

Vintage Classics will publish the books -- *Planet of the Apes *by Pierre Boulle, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea and *Journey to the Centre of the Earth *by Jules Verne, The Lost World by Arthur Conan Doyle and *The Call of Cthulhu and Other Weird Tales *by H.P. Lovecraft -- in April 2011, the company said in a press release Monday.

"The 3-D cover is an idea I had thought of a long while ago and had been holding until the right book came along," said Suzanne Dean, creative director of The Random House Group, in the press release. "The Sci-Fi project, with all its B-movie connotations, was the perfect match."

The art for the covers will take a page from 1950s sci-fi movies, and 3-D glasses will be included with each novel.
