“None of you will do anything except live the life that has already been set out for you,” says a matter-of-fact voiceover in the trailer above. “And sometime around your third donation, your short life will be complete.”
The movie — an adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro’s 2005 speculative-fiction novel Never Let Me Go, which Time called “the best novel of the decade” — was directed by Mark Romanek (One Hour Photo). It stars Carey Mulligan, Andrew Garfield and Keira Knightley.
Never Let Me Go opens Sept. 15 in limited release.
