Powerful new posters for Fantastic Fest, the annual genre film festival held in Austin, Texas, transport movie advertising back to a time when it relied on striking artwork rather than 3-D gimmickry.
Cranked out by artists working for Mondo — the art boutique of Austin theater chain The Alamo Drafthouse, which holds the annual horror and sci-fi film festival — the collectible pieces show off movies and events taking place during this year's not-to-be-missed event, which runs Sept. 23 through 30.

In this year's Fantastic Debates, filmmakers and members of the press engage in a formal debate followed by a single round of boxing. "Fantastic Fest is proud and a bit anxious to announce the title card in the 2010 Fantastic Debates.
