Julian Gollop, one of the designers behind X-COM and Laser Squad, said last week that he is working on a turn-based tactical game that will be a launch title for Nintendo's upcoming 3DS hardware.
The game designer chose an inauspicious place to make this announcement: the comments section of a Gamasutra article about the forthcoming XCOM first-person shooter from 2K Games. Then again, perhaps it was the best place to reach retro gamers who are cheesed off that the venerable series isn't sticking to its turn-based roots.
Eric Caoili, on the excellent Tiny Cartridge blog, theorizes that Gollop's new project may be Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Lead The Ghosts, which Ubisoft announced for 3DS at E3.
