The special edition of Cataclysm, the third expansion for Blizzard's successful World of Warcraft MMO, will come packed with loot.
The $80 dollar boxed set for PC and Mac, revealed Tuesday by a Blizzard press release, will be available only at retail stores. The big box will include a 176-page art book, the exclusive in-game pet Lil' Deathwing, a behind-the-scenes DVD, a soundtrack featuring 10 new audio tracks from Cataclysm, a special-edition mouse pad and an assortment of World of Warcraft Trading Card Game cards.
Blizzard remains tight-lipped about the exact day Cataclysm will ship, merely hinting that the expansion's release date will be announced in the months ahead.
In addition to bringing new high-end content, a new level cap of 85 and new playable races the Goblin and Worgen, Cataclysm also promises to dramatically alter content originally introduced when World of Warcraft launched in 2004.
A world-changing catastrophe will physically change old zones, giving devoted players another reason to level up one more toon and newcomers (if such a species exists) a fresh, more finely tuned first-time experience.
