2011 will mark your return to Ferelden.

Bioware will release Dragon Age II in March 2011 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, the developer said Thursday.

Dragon Age: Origins, which launched in November 2009, allowed players to enter the plot line from the perspective of one of many characters. But the sequel seems to be leaning more towards the Mass Effect way of doing things. In Dragon Age II, players will take on the role of Hawke, a character destined to become the most important figure in the beleaguered kingdom of Ferelden.

Bioware writer David Gaider said in the company's forums that Hawke can be played as a male or female, just like Commander Shepard in Mass Effect.

The forthcoming issue of Game Informer promises more details around Dragon Age 2. The 10-page cover story will feature interviews with key Bioware players, plus a slew of screenshots and concept art.
