While your real family will have to journey to Europe and wait a year to buy an electric Renault, those smiling Sims on your computer screen will soon be able to pick up a futuristic Twizy Z.E. concept car.

The Twizy comes as part of an Electric Vehicle Pack that will be available as the result of a partnership between Renault and Sims-maker Electronic Arts. With the pack, the Sims not only get a shiny new electric car but solar panels and a windmill for generating clean electricity.

"Electric vehicles are additionally going to appeal to younger, more socially conscious prospects and especially early adopters," said Stephen Norman, Senior VP of Global Marketing for Renault. "This is the heartland of the Sims 3 community and it thus provides a great innovative way to build the Renault Brand just ahead of the Renault range of affordable electric vehicles themselves."

The Twizy Z.E. is a 3.7-foot wide, 7.5-foot long concept that seats two -- with a passenger behind the driver.Renault confirmed that production of a car based on the Twizy would begin in 2011 at a factory in Valladolid, Spain.

While Renault says the gasoline bills for Sims families are expected to decrease, we expect that players will also have to remind their Sims to plug in the car.
