Low-brow sci-fi and horror maestro Roger Corman produced nearly 350 B movies during his heyday, and many of his lurid films will be resurrected for home viewing this spring. Shout Factory has announced plans to release more than 50 Corman-produced movies on DVD, including Galaxy of Terror (pictured), Humanoids From the Deep and the always-popular Attack of the Crab Monster.

Corman famously hired major talents when they were young and worked cheap. Jack Nicholson, Dennis Hopper and Martin Scorsese did early work for the prolific producer. Avatar director James Cameron designed a spaceship for Battle Beyond the Stars and created special effects on Galaxy of Terror before getting fired from his first directing gig on Piranha II: The Spawning, a sequel to Corman's 1978 vicious fish movie, Piranha. (The original is now being remade in 3-D.)

The first titles in the Roger Corman's Cult Classics collection hit stores in April, with the release of Piranha: Special Edition, Humanoids From the Deep, Up From the Depths and Demon of Paradise.
