Another arbitrary deadline has passed, and the latest Autopia WTF? Caption Contest has come to a close.
For the most recent edition, we found a photo of Ah-nold checking out the Audi e-tron electric concept. Apparently, Gov. Schwarzenegger was pretty impressed by the sexy, eco-friendly supercar.
That didn't matter to most of our contest entrants, who luckily for us were more interested in the Governator's erstwhile movie career than his opinions on green technology. So, without further ado, we present our top three favorites that literally made us LOL.
The finalists are:
- Paul, and countless others, who made a reference to an immortal line from Predator with "Get to da e-tron!"
- Ken, who gave us an homage to Kindergarten Cop: "It's not a tuma! It's an oww-dee!"
- Finally, TFerguson, who reinterpreted a quote from Total Recall to lament the drain on the electrical grid that cars like the e-tron may eventually cause. "QUAAAAAIIIIDDDDD... Start the reactoooorrrrrrrrrrrr! So I can charge my car!"
While all of the quotes had us lamenting the amount of time we spent watching basic cable after midnight, TFerguson's Total Recall reference takes the cake for real-life relevance. TFerguson, you ahh the winnahh.
Luckily, nobody with a halfway decent entry sent in an E-mail address, so we don't have to give up our prized shrink-wrapped Betamax copy of Conan the Destroyer as a prize.
