Your favorite zombie apocalypse survivors are back in the first round of Left 4 Dead 2 downloadable content.
The Passing, which is due in early spring 2010, will feature an appearance by Bill, Zoe, Louis and Francis, the four survivors from the original Left 4 Dead. The new campaign will take place between the Dead Center mall escape and Dark Carnival.
Gamers shooting their way through The Passing will also encounter a new zombie, a new melee weapon and a new firearm. Segments of The Passing will be playable in multiplayer matches. Valve also promises to introduce a new kind of cooperative challenge similar to the Survival trials that were added to Left 4 Dead early this year.
It's unclear how our old friends, who probably hail from Pennsylvania, find their way to the deep South after the developments of Left 4 Dead. There's still a chance that this crossing of paths may have something to do with The Midnight Riders, the fictional rock band that was scheduled to play a gig just before the zombie apocalypse ruined everything.
