People who own older versions of Sony's PSP have been playing Dissidia: Final Fantasy for months.
I for one didn't like Dissidia very much, so maybe it's their loss. But early adopters who grabbed the PSP Go when it came out on October 1 have had to wait until Thursday to nab the Square Enix fighting game, which can be downloaded via the PlayStation Network for $40.
Good, but not fast enough.
It's bad enough that hundreds of old PSP games can't be played on the PSPgo. In the months before it came out, I had harbored the fantasy that I'd finally tackle Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions on a the new, lightweight portable. But it's not available on the PSPgo, and I've resigned myself to the fact that I'll probably be replacing my broken first-generation PSP with something a little less sleek.
If Sony wants users to fork over the dough for the pricey Go, the company has got to work harder to get downloadable games avaiable day and date with the disc versions. Why make early adopters who've spent more money into a second-class tier of customers?
Heck, why not make the games available on PSN before the UMD street date?
