The guys at RiffTrax are offering up their second nationwide simulcast show to celebrate the Christmas season.
Michael J. Nelson, Kevin Murphy and Bill Corbett keep the Mystery Science Theater 3000 spirit alive with funny movie commentaries (like Planet of the Dinosaurs above). On Dec. 16, they'll partner with live event specialist Fathom to bring a collection of old-school Christmas shorts to a theater near you via big screen broadcast.
It's the second live go-round for RiffTrax. The original event (a screening and gutting of the legendary bad movie Plan 9 From Outer Space) was such a success, it generated an encore showing. This time around, "Weird Al" Yankovic will be on hand to serenade Yuletide viewers.
Check the RiffTrax homepage for a list of theaters and to purchase tickets.
