Jake Gyllenhaal is in talks to star in Source Code, a sci-fi mind-warper to be helmed by Moon director Duncan Jones, according to Variety.

Review: Masterful Moon Takes Shot at Sci-Fi Greatness
Gyllenhaal would replace Topher Grace in the movie about a soldier who wakes up in another person's body before a bombing, according to the trade publication.
That creaking noise? Millions of fingers crossing.
Gyllenhaal has a sci-fi rap sheet that's a better read than Grace's so far. And while it looks like Gyllenhaal's pouring on the blockbuster cheese in the upcoming Prince of Persia movie (pictured above), he's appeared in sci-fi greats (Donnie Darko) and lessers (The Day After Tomorrow).
For his part, Grace was great in Spider-Man. Plus, my wife still wants to pinch his cheeks (probably all four of them) for his run as the grinning Star Wars geek in That '70s Show. But if Jones wants to build on the momentum of his cerebral Moon, going dark with the Darko star is a safer bet.
Speaking of dark, screen this recently posted YouTube mash of Donnie Darko with Radiohead's creepy epic "Paranoid Android." (See if you can picture Grace in the role.)
Better yet, let us know in the comments section below if you can think of another tune you'd like to mash with Donnie Darko or Jones' solitary Moon, which proved that good sci-fi doesn't need billions in CGI. (Perhaps Jones' father, David Bowie, has a tune or two that will do for both.)
