tfTransformers fans have a chance to regress themselves to the desperate happiness of childhood: Hasbro is bringing back a limited number of die-cast Optimus Prime figures to celebrate the release of the classic animated television show on DVD.

To commemorate the arrival of The Transformers: Season 2, Volume 1 25th Anniversary Edition, Hasbro is giving Wired.com a Transformers Universe GI Series Optimus Prime 25th Anniversary Pack to give away to a lucky reader.

The set includes a DVD of the animated series' first three episodes and a Transformers graphic novel. But be honest — it's Optimus himself you long to possess. He's lovingly based on the earliest toy from 1984. You get the missiles that you'd never snag in toys nowadays because the short-bus kids choke on them. You also get his truck trailer, his traditional gun and his buddy, Roller.

All you have to do is leave a comment below, preferably one that lays out your love of the Transformers show. One winner will be chosen at random. All entries must be received by 12:01 a.m. PST, Oct. 9, 2009. Winners will be contacted by e-mail. (Update: It is not necessary to enter your e-mail address in the comments section. As long as you are logged in to Wired.com using a legitimate e-mail address, we will be able to contact you in the event that you are picked as the winner.)
