The fan film project Star Wars: Uncut has a trailer now, and it's only a matter of time before it's an entire reassembled film.
Star Wars: Uncut breaks down A New Hope into 473 separate, 15-second segments for fans to re-create any way they choose. An examination of the site reveals that every segment has been remade at least once — with multiple parts re-created multiple times (leaving the reassembly editors to decide which they'll use when they put together the final cut). There's no official date set for now on when that master assembly will be completed.
Meanwhile, the trailer does a good job of laying out the bizarrely diverse styles involved in the site, from low-budget fan film craft to ambitious animated moments. Check it out above.
