TOKYO — Here’s a guided tour of the curiosities to be found in two of Japan’s best classic game stores.
Last year at Tokyo Game Show, the Retronauts crew went around to our favorite hot spots with a video camera in tow. First, we hit up Super Potato in Akihabara, the colorful, happy store packed floor to ceiling with every old game you never knew you really wanted to buy. After checking out some of the crazier stuff, like a Puck-Man LCD game and insanely expensive soundtracks, we ate some bread in a can. It was gross.
In the second video, embedded below, we hit up Mandarake Galaxy in Nakano, where they don’t really allow filming, so we had to hang out outside the store and talk about what is in there.
Most of this stuff is still there, by the way.
