DC Comics' Wildstorm imprint has licensed just about every videogame franchise under the sun. Now it's adding Aion to the list.
The comic book, titled "Aiva's Story," is based on the lore of the massively multiplayer game by NCsoft, which is currently available in Asia.
The limited-edition book will be given away for free, exclusively, at the Penny Arcade Expo this weekend. It will also be free with the purchase of the game at GameStop and Electronic Boutique stores in North America when it launches on September 22.
The comic will feature art by Neil Googe and the writing of David Noonan and Ricardo Sanchez. According to the press release, the comic tells the tale of Aiva, "a young Asmodian warrior who vows vengeance against the Elyos who killed her family during a raid."
There are so many videogame comics nowadays, but are any really a must-read? I'm currently only reading DC's World of Warcraft comic, but many of the ones I've seen are treated more like paltry promotional materials rather than another meaningful way for you to enjoy a particular videogame franchise.
See for yourself and check out a few panels from the one-shot Aion comic below.
