Discovered by WoW.com, a listing on the website for the satellite service, which is broadcasting the event, stated that the singer will be making a "special appearance" during the convention.

The DirecTV website has been changed since the news surfaced Sunday, but if Osbourne shows up, it wouldn't be a total shocker considering he's appeared in television commercials for Blizzard's massively multiplayer online game World of Warcraft.

However, Osbourne's appearance is probably one of the least anticipated happenings at BlizzCon. We'll be looking to find out anything about the company's unannounced MMO, a new *World of Warcraft *expansion (called Cataclysm?) and Blizzard's other titles Diablo III and *StarCraft II *when we head to Anaheim Convention Center on August 21 and 22.

Update: On Tuesday, Blizzard announced that Ozzy Osbourne is headlining the closing concert at BlizzCon. "Our goal with BlizzCon is to deliver an unforgettable weekend of entertainment, and we can't think of a better way to close out this year's show than having Ozzy rock the house," said Blizzard CEO and co-founder Mike Morhaime. "Many of us at Blizzard are lifelong fans of Ozzy's music, and we're thrilled that he'll be performing for all of our BlizzCon attendees as well as those joining us via DIRECTV and the live Internet stream."
