Familiar names dominated the 2009 Hugo Awards for the world's finest sci-fi and fantasy, with Neil Gaiman's The Graveyard Book winning Best Novel and earning the English virtuoso a new statue to go along with his 2002 Hugo for American Gods.
Best Novella winner Nancy Kress was also a repeat performer, adding a Hugo for her 2009 tale The Erdmann Nexus to her 1992 award for Beggars in Spain.
Some cool newcomers also picked up Hugos, which wrapped Monday in Montreal at the 67th World Science Fiction Convention (aka Worldcon).
Wall-E, Pixar's brilliant tale of robots, solitude and consumption, took home a Hugo for Best Long-Form Dramatic Presentation.
The Whedon brothers (Joss, Zack and Jed) picked up a Hugo for their uproarious direct-to-web musical Doctor Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog, which won for Best Short-Form Dramatic Presentation.

At last report, there was still no Hugo for videogames, which rhymes with lame.
