Brütal Legend isn't the only metal-themed videogame on the way: A downloadable game based on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim series Metalocalypse is coming to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

According to the* Wall Street Journal*, show creator Brendon Small is working with Konami and developer Frozen Codebase to create Metalocalypse: Dethgame, which features "a band of roadies fighting in the service of Dethklok," the cartoon's fictional, self-absorbed and world-famous death metal band.

The game will also include the popular program's music, which is written and performed by Small.

Metalocalypse isn't the first popular Adult Swim series to be adapted into a console game. But let's hope it's the first one to be good.

In 2007, Aqua Teen Hunger Force inspired* Aqua Teen Hunger Force Zombie Ninja Pro-Am,* a PlayStation 2 title published by Midway. The game, which featured the show's anthropomorphic food items golfing, fighting and kart-racing, received a Metacritic score of 37 for its broken controls and repetitive gameplay.

Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law, a* Phoenix Wright*-style title published by Capcom in 2008, fared a little better, but not by much. It garnered a 6/10 review from Wired.com and an overall Metacritic score of 63.

Hopefully, *Dethgame *will avoid the poor receptions that its fellow Adult Swim series' games have had.

More details on the *Metalocalypse *game will be revealed at San Diego Comic-Con later this week.
