Megan Fox plays a smartass possessed cheerleader in Jennifer’s Body, a comedy-horror flick due in September. From the looks of the new red-band trailer (embedded above), the R-rated movie will be an amusingly raunchy ride.
Fox, who recently did a lot of running and screaming in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, slows down for Jennifer’s Body and spits out writer Diablo Cody’s quirky dialogue with wicked relish.
Cody, the blogger turned stripper turned screenwriter who wrote teen-pregnancy farce Juno and Showtime’s multiple-personality freakfest United States of Tara, sent a note to ShockTillYouDrop.com that frames the upcoming movie as a nostalgic trip down a bloody funny section of memory lane.
“Fox is putting a trailer of Jennifer’s Body in front of Bruno this Friday,” wrote Cody in a note also signed by the producer and director of Jennifer’s Body. “Great, right? Only problem is it’s not our trailer. It’s kind of a straight horror preview and while we’re sure it’ll appeal to many of you, we wanted to make sure you guys got to see our cut…. Lets call it the ‘filmmaker’s cut.’ We think it captures the comedy and scares of the horror films we grew up on — a kind of nostalgia for when horror films were fun.”
Directed by Karyn Kusama, Jennifer’s Body opens Sept. 18.
