Here at Danger Room, we've made a hobby of collecting "Iron Eagles" -- the defense industry's most annoying, alarming and appalling promotional videos. Our pal Steve Trimble, who has spotted such gems as the legendary Israeli Armsdog Millionaire vid, has forwarded us another keeper.

It's from Sanswire, a Fort Lauderdale-based company that is developing a new class of lighter-than-air unmanned aerial vehicles. According to a company news release, their airship designs do traditional spy blimps one better: They stay aloft without wires. An untethered surveillance platform, the company says, requires less infrastructure and can stay aloft longer, providing more sustained border security.

The press release likens the flexible design of a Sanswire airships to a "snake undulating through water." Umm, this may date me somewhat, but it kinda reminds me of the "Licensed to Ill" tour. Click on the video (totally SFW, link here) to judge for yourselves.
