If you didn't think it was possible to get any more excited about Four Warriors of Light: Final Fantasy Gaiden, how about this -- there's a job-change system.
Those old-school *Final Fantasy V *fans who got addicted to that game's switching around of "jobs", or character classes, to build characters with all kinds of different crazy abilities should know why this is potentially very good news. Final Fantasy Gaiden calls it the "Crown" system, and each job is represented by a cute little hat that you put on your cute little adventurer. Functionally, though, it seems identical to FFV, as different crowns offer different stat bumps and the ability to use different sorts of weapons, armor, and accessories.
Also: omg adorable.
Yes, I realize that whenever a new Final Fantasy game seems to hearken back to that perfect blend of experimentation and outright cheating made possible by the job-change system, reality never quite lives up to expectations. Can't I have my impossible dreams? I'm still going to import this on day one this fall, and you can't stop me.
