Oswald Larsen and L.B. Laurence, dedicated sci-fi fans, puppeteers and comedy filmmakers, are turning their sardonic gaze from Star Trek to the classic serials of the 1950s with the animated web series, Captain Stargood.
Created and presented as if it were a real, lost TV show from the '50s, the puppet-based Captain Stargood blends down-and-dirty humor with the cheesy sensibilities of ye olde sci-fi of rocket ships and "ro-bets."
Larsen and Laurence cut their web series teeth on Star Trek spoofs using Mego action figures of the 1970s. They bring the same "subtle" humor to Stargood with episode titles like "Balls of Mystery" (above).
Visitors to the website can read about the show's faux history, meet the plastic characters and join the fan club.
