In the Star Wars universe, there are good, fair and painfully awkward marketing ideas.

The best concepts are pretty well-established — like action figures, videogames and T-shirts.

The fair ideas might include flash drives, bed sheets and, now, Adidas shoes and apparel. According to the shoe and clothing maker, "Adidas Originals is proud to announce a unique collaboration with ... Star Wars. This stellar spring/summer 2010 collection fuses iconic Star Wars characters and scenes with classic Adidas Originals footwear and apparel silhouettes." The line will include merchandise for kids and adults.

Then we have the ideas that make any Star Wars fan wince, like the "Hello Wars" line of stickers from the folks behind the favorite of every girl who grew up in the 1980s, Hello Kitty. Available for $1 a piece or $10 for a set, Hello Wars characters include Storm Kitty, Chew Kitty and R2K2. While there's nothing morally wrong about marketing Star Wars to girls, there's something heartbreaking about seeing the once great Boba Fett wearing whiskers and a bow.
