*valentines_chocolates1*Well! It's nice to know that, in a pinch, the other remaining member of the Axis of Evil won't forget you.

According to Korea Central News Agency, Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the North Korean Supreme People's Assembly, sent a note of congratulations to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on his apparent election victory:

Kim in the message said that his reelection as Iranian president is the expression of support and trust of the Iranian people in him and sincerely wished him success in his responsible work to frustrate pressure and interference of outsiders and build independent and prosperous Iran.

Kim did not provide any pointers on dealing with the meddlesome foreign press, however. As we watch events unfold in Iran, let's not forget Current TV Reporters Laura Ling and Euna Lee, recently sentenced to hard labor by a North Korean court. One of their crimes, according to North Korean state media, was crossing the border "for the purpose of making animation files to be used for an anti-DPRK (North Korea) smear campaign over its human rights issue."

UPDATE: Noah here. Speaking of Pyongyang, all Danger Room readers are invited to check out Kim Jong-Il's new Twitter stream. Turns out, he's taking time out of his busy day of dictatordom to read this humble blog -- and provide commentary on the posts. For example, in response to yesterday's item on building a next-gen aircraft carrier, he Tweeted, "Big freaking deal. I can make an aircraft carrier OUT OF LIVING PEOPLE. Schachtman [sic], you are too easily impressed."
