Conan O'Brien's Upgraded Futurism Predicts YouTwitFace, Chevy Scrotum

Conan O’Brien’s recurring Late Night futuristic segment “In the Year 2000” was always good for a few hoots. But now that the well-coiffed comedian has taken over Carson and Leno’s The Tonight Show, the skit’s finally been upgraded to the year 3000.

Although the new segment, which debuted Wednesday night, could use a joke upgrade, O’Brien managed to get off a riotous shot at the social networking phenomenon: “YouTube, Twitter and Facebook will merge to form one super time-wasting website called YouTwitFace,” O’Brien predicted to unanimous applause.

In another hilarious stab, O’Brien’s trusty pal Andy Richter kicked General Motors while it is deservedly down. “GM will still not understand how to make cars America wants,” he prophesied, “as evidenced by the debut of the new Chevrolet Scrotum.”

Those two wisecracks were enough to keep the segment afloat, which might have been sunk by less-impressive goofs on Israel and Palestine, a shirtless Matthew McConaughey, Obama and waterboarding. Got your own predictions for the year 3000? Do share, in the comments section below.
